First night, of the seventy or so to come. Our project of the night was to go out on the streets of down town Atlanta, and talk to the homeless and the people of city! This was a HUGE step for me! Never have I gotten a chance to experience that. Needless to say I was pretty nervous! How do you start talking to someone you don’t even know? Then how do I even begin to tell him about Jesus!
So the first hour was hard, figuring out where to go and what to do. But God was so gracious to direct us to people to talk to that entire night. My favorite person we got to talk to that night was a guy named Joe. He was such a sweet guy! Alie, Elizabeth and I got to talk to him for probably a half hour or more. He told us a little about his life, and how he moved from New Jersey away from all his family. He then told us how he really liked sports, but loved to just watch them not to play.
After awhile we got to share with him our story, how we are going to Brazil and what we will be doing there. Then Elizabeth helped Alie and I start sharing about the Lord, and telling him HOW CRAZY we are about Jesus! It was awesome to see him process this, it got him thinking.:) Alie had felt lead to give her bible to him, which then after awhile lead into us praying over him. It was awesome to see God at work, and giving us an opportunity just to talk to Joe. We got to walk away seeing him with tears in his eyes and him telling us how we made his night!
This was all just the first night! It was simply, awesome. Now we are at the airport and get to spend 21 hours here, then will be boarding our plane for Brazil at 6:30 tomorrow morning. So just be keeping us in your guys prayers!! 🙂
