God is
good! The past few days have included some of the most memorable moments
of my life:
Thursday night when I was feeling so lonely and
tired and prayed to God for a nice long hug.
Then ten seconds later Elizabeth, one of the support staff we have adopted
into the team, came up behind me and gave me one of the most appreciated hugs
of my life. J
Friday night when I finally let go of the
bitterness I held in my heart for some people who have hurt me in the
past. Then Kelli, another of our partly adopted support staff, came over
and wrapped an arm around me and I bawled my eyes out, releasing the tears I
had held inside for so long.
Saturday when I got to butt heads with some
unexpecting girls and got water spat on my face while pretending to be a part
of an uber primitive tribe during the course of an exercise designed to
introduce us to evangelism.
I could go on for a while about all of the smaller
moments that meant just as much but for the sake of the readers interest level
I shall restrain. The staff here has been amazing and the training is
excellent. God has shown up in so many
moments, both big and small, and I have felt more free than any other time in
my life. I have felt a changed in me
this week. I feel a thousand pounds lighter and I finally feel ready to get on
that plane for Brazil and do what God has been calling me to do. I am
ready to go out on the field and reach out to those in need. I am ready
and can’t wait to see what God has in store for the next two and a half months!!!!!
