Things I’ve learned in Brazil

So this is the first time I have been able to blog since I have gotten to Brazil, I just missed the last Communication Day (which are Saturday mornings), so I have a lot to catch up on. I thought I would start blogging by saying what I have learned since I have gotten here. Â 1. Belo Horizonte (where we are living in Brazil) is in the mountains. 2. Because we are in the mountains we drive on mountain roads. It is terrifying. The roads are just gradual enough so our car doesnt topple over. 3. Brazilian drivers are just as terrifying. 4. I feel like I am on a constant StrairMaster, there is...

Holla from Beautiful Brasil.

So I can not even put into words how beautiful the view is in this incredible country. I wake every morning at the foothills of a massive towering mountain.  I am so blessed. The air is so fresh and crisp here.  We are 3,300 feet above sea level and it feels good 🙂   The journey getting to this point has been quite a rollercoaster. From spending an entire day in the Atlanta airport, to sleeping on the cold airport floor, to missing our flight and getting to spend a free night at a nice hotel it has been WILD. But God has blessed us in incredible ways throughout this...

You thought the U.S. had some crazy drivers…

So we've officially been in Brazil for 5 days, but it feels like it's been weeks! Our first day here, Paul, our missionary contact came and picked us up from the airport in Belo Horizonte, and THAT is where the real adventure started. We got to Paul's property about an hour after leaving the airport, and the beauty of this place was phenomenal! The first day here we were able to rest and become adjust to the slight time difference, which was nice after over 2 days of travel! After our first day here, we were able to get to see some of...

So, Brazil

So here I am in Brazil, or as they write it here Brasil:) This will be my second attempt to write this, so lets pray this will work! Wow, so alot has happened since training camp! From spending 21 hours in the Atlanta airport, needless to say we got to know that airport very well. We slept on the airport floor for maybe 3 hours? Then flew to Maimi, and then onto our 9 hour flight to Sao Palo. Where we spent our whole time waiting for our luggage, and missed our flight. Then we found out that the people told us wrong and we didn’t need to wait for our luggage because it was already on...

I have a lot to learn….

Okay, I’m just gonna throw this out there…I am prideful.  We’ve only been here in Brazil about 5 days, and already I am learning tons about myself.  I struggle so much with expectations, because I get my ideas about what God is going to have in store, and then when they aren’t met, I think everything is all wrong.  I thought for sure we would be living out in the bush somewhere, eating who knows what, sharing the gospel with people who had never heard of Jesus, and smelling like something that’s been dead for quite some time.  We would...
