Being Pushed:)

First night, of the seventy or so to come. Our project of the night was to go out on the streets of down town Atlanta, and talk to the homeless and the people of city! This was a HUGE step for me! Never have I gotten a chance to experience that. Needless to say I was pretty nervous! How do you start talking to someone you don’t even know? Then how do I even begin to tell him about Jesus! So the first hour was hard, figuring out where to go and what to do. But God was so gracious to direct us to people to talk to that entire night. My favorite person we got to talk to that night was a...

bloggin it up

First blog ever! It has been so amazing seeing what God has been doing during these four days of training camp!  I have been touched, grown, stretched, and inspired.  My desire to get on Brazilian soil and do God’s work has flourished and begun to drive me crazy! I know God has such an incredible plan for my team in Brazil and He is going to shape us into godly men and women who are totally unafraid and unashamed to proclaim the Word. So far there have been food fights, paint fights, walks through Atlanta from 10pm to 2am hanging with homeless, and a whole lot of singing and...

Training Camp!

Hey Everyone! Wow, I can’t even begin to express how much God has done in this week here at training camp.  There has been so much to process and learn; I feel like my mind is going to explode!  We have gotten to hear from lots of incredible people who have lots of incredible stories about what our incredible God is doing around the world, and also right here in Atlanta.  My heart has broken even more as I learn about children who are forced to kill and eat their own parents, girls who are forced into prostitution at a ridiculously early age, people who sacrifice...

Truly Humble

This entire week since we have arrived, a huge focus of our trip has been servant-hood. We spent a night on the streets of downtown Atlanta, hanging out with the homeless! That was only a glimpse of what servant-hood really is.        Tonight was the night I learned what it meant to be truly humble, to be a servant to others. We had our commissioning service tonight, which was preparation for being sent off into the nations! Our leader decided to include a foot washing in our service, and to be honest, I was incredibly...

Wow……

God is good!  The past few days have included some of the most memorable moments of my life: Thursday night when I was feeling so lonely and tired and prayed to God for a nice long hug.  Then ten seconds later Elizabeth, one of the support staff we have adopted into the team, came up behind me and gave me one of the most appreciated hugs of my life. J Friday night when I finally let go of the bitterness I held in my heart for some people who have hurt me in the past.  Then Kelli, another of our partly adopted support staff, came over and wrapped an arm around me and I bawled...
